The Beautiful Scars Recovery Model, offers non-clinical support services to assist individuals in working toward recovery from substance use and mental health conditions.
The model incorporates a wide range of social support linkage to allied service providers and other services that facilitate recovery and wellness. Ultimately, reducing or eliminating environmental and personal barriers to recovery.
Group & Individual Peer Support
Our Group and Individual Peer Support program links individuals recovering from mental illness and substance abuse to individuals who shared a common reality. The program will be frequent, ongoing, flexible and accessible to include phone calls, text messaging, group meetings and home visits.

Assistance in Daily Management
Peer supporters use their own unique experiences with recovery from mental illness and substance abuse when helping individuals figure out how to manage the recovery process in their daily lives. Peer supporters will also help in identifying key resources, to reduce environmental and personal barriers to recovery.

Social and Emotional Support
Peer supporters will play an integral part of helping individuals to cope with social or emotional barriers and to stay motivated to reach their goals.

Ongoing support extend over-time
Peer supporters will successfully keep individuals engaged by providing proactive, flexible, and continual long-term follow-up.

Group & Individual Family Support
Addiction like mental illness is a disease that not only affects individuals but often stresses their families to the breaking point. While people suffering from a severe substance use disorder or mental illness urgently need help to recover, their families have to overcome a crisis situation as well, while learning how to help their loved one who is suffering.
Beautiful Scars, Inc. group and individual family support groups are designed to follow our Recovery Model, ensuring everyone is heard and equipped with the necessary tools they need to help their loved ones in the recovery process.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Groups are Co-facilitated by Beautiful Scars, Inc. staff and family members of individuals recovering from substance use and mental illness.
- Groups meet weekly and monthly to gain tools and resources needed during the recovery process.
- Groups are confidential and embody a welcoming and nurturing environment.
- Groups will allow family members to find strength in sharing experiences.

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
Beautiful Scars, Inc. utilizes the Wellness Recovery Action Plain, which is a tool developed by the individual who is living with a mental illness and/or addiction disorder. We believe that you are the expert in your own recovery and therefore, we assist you with uncovering the tools you need to succeed.
WRAP is designed to:
- Decrease and prevent intrusive or troubling feelings and behavior.
- Increase personal empowerment.
- Improve quality of life.
- Assist individual in achieving their own life goals and dreams.
